Welcome to Mr. Manko's world! This website is designed as a resource for parents, students, teachers and friends that wish to explore some of the wonderful things that are occurring in the classroom. Mr. Manko is currently teaching at Rosemont Elementary/Middle School in Baltimore City, Maryland where he works as the school's Technology Coordinator. He works each week with close to 300 wonderful students, helping them to improve their skills in computer technology. Mr. Manko has also taught middle school language arts and social studies. I hope you enjoy this site and the wonderful work of my students!
 
 

Special Updates and Awards-

In the 2005-2006 academic year, Mr Manko's language arts classes passed the Maryland State Assessment (MSA) Test at a 79.1%, scoring third highest amoungst Baltimore City Middle Schools and beating both state and city averages in reading. Click here for a full overview of this year's MSA scores.

In 2007-2008, Mr. Manko helped facilitate the acquisition of the prestigious Barbara Bush Foundation Grant. This grant included a $50,000 cash award for increased family literacy and community technology development. During the granting period, Mr. Manko taught a cohort of eighteen parents how to better utilize the computer to assist in their children's learning.

In the summer of 2008, Mr. Manko was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to study international education in Japan. Click here for more information on the Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund Program.
